graduated : 2014 i double-majored in communications and economics at aup, while also exploring my interest in french language and literature. i’m now partnership development manager at sociomantic labs, where we help international marketers create effective display advertising. anas from : morocco graduated : 2012 i was delighted to find at aup a thorough blending of theoretical concepts and hands-on projects. after an internship, i did research at nyu and got my master’s in computer science at cornell. i now work as a software engineer for ebay in new york. sugi from : rwanda graduated : sustainable development practicum in south india is a unique intensive field course blending classes in sustainable development and development communications. students work on media and communications projects for local ngos committed to social, cultural and economic development in urban and rural communities. morocco communications & middle east pluralities professors doyle & mcguinness the trip to fez provides students with the experience of a city type that they are probably unfamiliar with. the learning experience therefore is the challenge of travel, how to negotiate cross-cultural encounters and how to put that experience into text and images. iceland communications professor talcott this trip is designed so that graduate students studying the contemporary marketing, branding and “public diplomacy” process of “place” or “destination branding” can undertake field research in one of the most successfully promoted destinations in recent years. poland psychology & history professor schiff the trip to auschwitz and krakow focuses on the sites of social memory, with particular attention to the public display and representation of traumatic historical events within museums, memorials and monuments. france communications & anthropology professor shields students in the food, culture and communication course partake in a trip to the jura, a le louvre art history & fine arts the world’s largest museum houses celebrated works of art that span time and geography, set against the backdrop of the louvre’s exquisite interior and exterior architectural design. every semester, aup and the louvre organize the les jeunes ont la parole program, where aup students guide museum visitors through pieces that they’ve studied, allowing for a more profound understanding through dialogue. unesco student media club unesco coordinates international cooperation in education, science, culture, and communication so that all peoples can benefit from quality education, a rich cultural environment, scientific advances, and freedom of expression. aup’s student media department, invited to provide on-the-ground news coverage of unesco’s 9th annual youth forum, produced digital newsletters in french and english, a print magazine, and video highlights of the event. oxford university law summer program oxford’s international human rights law summer school’s program allows participants to explore key contemporary challenges to the protection and enforcement of human rights law. aup’s master's in diplomacy and international law will help you think critically about complex diplomatic and international legal issues, as you take part in a practicum at the hague and earn a certificate from oxford in international human rights. ecole de guerre diplomacy & international law the ecole de guerre is france’s highest-level establishment for the training of senior military officers, with a curriculum that examines the complexities of contemporary conflict and seeks out nuanced and contextualized solutions. students in aup’s international affairs master’s program can participate in the ecole de guerre’s coalition exercise, a military intervention simulation where students take on the role of humanitarian aid workers. jane goodall institute roots & shoots club this global wildlife and environment conservation organization works to protect primates, develop community-centered health projects, and promote improved agricultural practices. aup’s roots and shoots organization, a chapter of the jane goodall institute, panthéon-sorbonne paris i is a public research university in paris. aup partners with its department of political science to explore international affairs from the perspective of a french university.
